11 Best RBT Training Programs, Ranked

Meridian takes our first position as Best newcomer for the way it plans to connect instruction with practice. Its published course outline combines recorded teaching, worked examples, fictional practice cases and required checkpoints. We value that emphasis on applying concepts and checking understanding. This is a provisional editorial pick for a developing offering, rather than a finding that its teaching outperforms the established courses below.

The planned course costs $99 once. Exam prep is a separate $19.99 monthly subscription with adaptive, random and focused practice, explanations for every answer choice, flashcards and timed or untimed tests. The listed allowance is 50 questions per day and four practice tests per billing period, in 20-, 50- or 85-question formats. The subscription renews until cancelled and has no free trial; competency assessment and official certification fees are separate.

Public course enrollment and new exam-prep registration are currently closed, although existing approved accounts can sign in. Meridian says final content review, training-time verification and Responsible Trainer review are still in progress. We have not tested the course or exam-prep bank or verified learning outcomes. Behavior University is the course we'd suggest first to someone paying for their own RBT training who needs to enroll now. At $79, it costs less than the other paid courses near the top of our list, and its description gives you a useful picture of how you'll learn. Alongside videos, it includes activities, flashcards and quizzes that explain your answers. That opportunity to practice and get feedback is the main reason we put it ahead of Florida Tech.

You have 180 days from enrollment to complete the course. We haven't taken it ourselves, so we can't tell you how helpful the explanations feel when you're stuck. Completing the training also leaves other certification steps to arrange, including the competency assessment. Florida Tech is a close alternative if you prefer a university course with particularly clear enrollment and completion instructions.

Florida Tech makes the practical side of buying RBT training relatively easy to understand. Its RBT Essentials course costs $90, runs online at your own pace and explains when access begins, when it ends and how you receive your certificate. We put it third because those clear terms come at a much lower price than USF's $200 course. Behavior University leads our immediate-enrollment recommendations because it says more about the practice activities and feedback included for learners.

Plan your start date carefully. The access period begins when you pay, and failing to finish within the allowed window means buying the course again and starting over. Florida Tech recommends a computer because some functions don't work fully on mobile devices. This is a noncredit training course, and the separate competency assessment isn't included.

USF is worth the extra cost if you want to know exactly what work a course expects from you. It describes ten modules, five practice activities, graded quizzes and a final exam. Those details give us a clearer basis for recommending it than a page that simply promises 40 hours of video. They also explain why USF comes ahead of the free APF course in our general ranking.

The drawback is the $200 price. Behavior University and Florida Tech offer clearly described courses for less, which keeps USF in fourth place. You'll have 180 days to complete the training, and certificate delivery can take seven business days. USF doesn't provide or arrange the competency assessment. If you're working toward an employer's start date, leave time for both the certificate and the remaining steps.

APF is the option we'd look at first if paying for training would delay getting started. Its RBT 2.0 course is free, and the foundation describes it as newly recorded for the 2026 requirements. That removes a real cost at the beginning of the certification process. Fifth place shouldn't discourage someone on a tight budget from considering it.

We placed Behavior University, Florida Tech and USF above APF because their public descriptions give us more to work with when comparing course structure, practice or completion terms. APF's current FAQ doesn't establish a detailed practice rubric or a tutoring response time. If you tend to need help when learning unfamiliar material, find out what support you'll have before enrolling. Free access is a strong advantage; it doesn't tell us how much individual guidance comes with the course.

Sidekick makes more sense as an employer purchase than as a course someone buys on their own. It describes 40 modules, practice checks, a workbook and two full mock exams, with tools that let managers follow a learner's progress. We like the connection between studying and supervision: an employer has a way to see how training is progressing instead of waiting for a completion certificate.

That broader system is why Sidekick sits above ATCC here, but it's also why it doesn't beat the simpler individual courses. Team pricing starts at $22 per active user per month, and supervisor seats affect the bill too. Ask for a quote based on everyone who needs access. An employer that plans to use the wider learning platform may value it highly; an individual paying for one course will find a fixed fee easier to budget.

ATCC could suit someone who has set aside time to study consistently and wants practice alongside the lessons. The provider lists quiz feedback, mock questions and a study chatbot. That gives us more useful learning detail than AutismBXTraining's less complete explanation of access and support, so ATCC takes seventh place.

The subscription deserves a close look before you sign up. The listed choices are $39 a week or $119 a month; four weekly payments would cost $156. A slow or interrupted study schedule could make the course more expensive than a fixed-price alternative. We haven't checked the quality of the chatbot's answers, and it shouldn't be treated as a qualified instructor. The competency assessment is also separate. For predictable spending, compare Behavior University, Florida Tech and USF before choosing this plan.

AutismBXTraining gives prospective students a fairly detailed look inside its course. The 2026 page lists knowledge checks, data-collection practice, section quizzes and a final exam within a 204-lesson curriculum. At $99, it's reasonably priced next to several other paid options. We placed it above Behavior Webinars because that visible course outline helps you judge what you'll actually be asked to study.

What holds it back is the information around the course. We couldn't establish a clear access deadline or what to expect when asking an instructor for help from the reviewed page. The advertised 41.5 hours of video also tells us about quantity, not how well the lessons teach. Get those access and support questions answered before paying; Florida Tech is a nearby alternative with more explicit completion rules.

Behavior Webinars, sold through Behavior Tech Course, has the lowest listed price among the paid individual courses we compared. Its current sale price is $30, and the catalog identifies the course as covering the 2026 training curriculum. That makes it worth considering if you want a paid course without spending close to $100 or more.

Price alone doesn't move it above the eight options ahead of it. We found less detail about the learning and access arrangements than we'd want for a stronger general recommendation. Several study resources and extra mock exams are sold separately, so check the total for what you plan to use. Assessment-preparation materials aren't the same as an included competency assessment. We rank it above Relias because its current-course description doesn't contain the same conflicting edition language.

Relias offers a recognizable course package on paper: a 40-hour series, a practice exam and a stated completion period. It may be convenient if your employer already uses Relias. The reason it sits near the bottom of this ranking is a specific problem in the product description. The page refers to 2026 eligibility while also retaining language about the second-edition Task List.

Before buying, ask which curriculum you'll receive and whether the resulting certificate meets the current requirements. We haven't verified the version delivered after purchase. The listed $99 price is comparable to courses whose public descriptions are clearer, so we would resolve that question before choosing Relias over Florida Tech or Behavior University. Its defined package still puts it ahead of the more extensive pricing and access questions around OnlineRBTTraining.

OnlineRBTTraining advertises a self-paced 2026 course that can be used on a phone, tablet or computer. The difficulty is knowing exactly what you're buying. The homepage lists $99, while a separate 2026 page advertises $50. The pages also mix broad access promises with a 180-day completion limit. A reader shouldn't have to guess which terms apply at checkout.

Those unresolved details put it eleventh. We're not claiming that the lessons are worse than the other courses; we don't have evidence for that. We are saying that the purchase is harder to recommend confidently. Ask for the final charge, access expiry, course version and refund terms in writing. If you want to enroll without first clearing up conflicting information, the fixed-price courses higher on this list are easier to evaluate.
